With the weather taking a turn for the amazing here in Western Washington, my mind and taste buds have been focused on doing whatever I can do to spend as much time possible outside. That of course takes me right to the grill. I mean who wants to cook inside when it is 80 degrees and all sorts of gorgeous outside?
But sometimes you just want a big ol’ juicy burger without all of the fan fair and hoopla right? Just bun, burger, cheese, and BAM let’s eat!
Well, I can never let anything be that easy. I can’t even fry an egg without topping it with something zingy or spicy. So I decided I wanted to come up with a sauce for my burgers. Something that combines my favorite burger toppings all together.
Sort of a one stop shop for the taste buds if you will.
What do I like on my burgers?
Creamy mayo, that zip of mustard, and of course something spicy.
BINGO this sauce was born.
I played with the amounts of each component a bit before I finally found the perfect sauce blend. This gives burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and more, that little “something” to make them stand out and say “Eat me, I am awesome!!”.
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce, or more to taste (can substitute your favorite hot sauce)
Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, or place in an airtight container, and refrigerate.
Use on sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, and more.
