🥘Low-Carb Cinnamon Rolls Recipe Ingredient Notes
For the rolls
- Keto Wheat Flour: Creates authentic bread texture while keeping carbs low. Substitution: No direct substitute.
- Extra Cinnamon: Optional boost of warmth in the dough. Substitution: Can omit or reduce based on preference.
- Monk Fruit Allulose Sweetener: Provides sweetness without aftertaste. Substitution: Any granulated keto sweetener, though allulose, helps maintain moisture.
- Active Dry Yeast: Creates rise and authentic bread flavor. Substitution: Instant yeast can be used with adjusted rising time.
- White Vinegar: Activates yeast and improves texture. Substitution: Apple cider vinegar works too.
For the filling
- Best Brown Sweetener: Creates classic cinnamon roll flavor. Substitution: I prefer the flavor of this sweetener, but any keto brown sugar substitute could work, though the amount and final texture may vary.
- Ground Cinnamon: Essential for traditional flavor. Substitution: Use fresh, high-quality cinnamon for best results.
- Softened Butter: Helps filling stick and creates a gooey texture. Substitution: Must use real butter for proper results.
For the frosting
- Cream Cheese: Creates rich, tangy frosting. Substitution: Full-fat cream cheese only for proper consistency.
- Powdered Sweetener: Ensures smooth, lump-free frosting. Substitution: Must be a powdered version of your chosen sweetener.
- Pink Salt: Enhances flavors while providing minerals needed on keto. Substitution: Regular sea salt works but lacks mineral benefits.

🍽Equipment Needed
You will need this equipment to make this Low-Carb Cinnamon Rolls Recipe.
Storage and Reheating
Storage:
- At Room Temperature: Store leftover cinnamon rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Make sure they are completely cooled before sealing to prevent moisture buildup.
- In the Refrigerator: For longer storage, refrigerate the cinnamon rolls in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
- In the Freezer: If you want to keep them for an extended period, freeze the cinnamon rolls. Wrap each roll individually in plastic wrap and then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Reheating:
- Microwave: To reheat, place a cinnamon roll on a microwave-safe plate and cover it with a damp paper towel to keep it moist. Microwave for about 15-20 seconds or until warmed through. Adjust the time as needed based on your microwave's wattage.
- Oven: For a crispier texture, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the cinnamon rolls on a baking sheet and cover them loosely with foil to prevent over-browning. Heat for about 10-15 minutes or until warmed through.
- Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Place the cinnamon rolls in the basket and heat for 5-8 minutes, checking to ensure they don’t overcook.
These storage and reheating methods will help maintain the deliciousness of your cinnamon rolls! Enjoy!
💭Top tip
If you’re feeling ambitious, consider doubling the recipe and freezing a batch of the rolled unbaked cinnamon rolls. When you’re ready to enjoy them, just let them thaw in the fridge overnight and bake them fresh in the morning for a delightful breakfast treat!
FAQ about this Low-Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
No, this recipe has neither almond nor coconut flour as suitable alternatives for keto wheat flour. Keto wheat flour is specifically formulated to provide the light and fluffy texture needed for these cinnamon rolls.
Ensure that your yeast is fresh and has not expired. Also, make sure the liquid ingredients are warm, not hot, as high temperatures can kill the yeast. If the dough still doesn’t rise, try placing it in a warmer location.
