Creamy Mashed Turnips

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pounds turnips choose medium to small sized for best flavor, peeled and cubed
  • 12 cloves garlic
  • 8 ounces cream cheese room temp and cubed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter cubed
  • pink salt
  • cracked black pepper
  • fresh chives chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Add turnips and garlic to a large pot.
  • Fill the pot with water and salt well.
  • Set over medium heat and place the lid over the pot so it is just covering. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 20 minutes, or until fork tender.
  • Drain the turnips well.
  • Place the turnips and the remaining ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth.
  • Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
