Honey Mustard Sauce - I always keep a jar of this simple Honey Mustard Sauce in my fridge. Ready in less than 5 minutes, it is perfect as a glaze for vegetables, chicken, fish, or pork, or as a dipping sauce.
Well, it is finally starting to feel more like fall around here. The 90's have been replaced with 60's and 70's and that makes me a happy camper. I am totally ready hoodies and Ugg boots, and roasting and baking, and 90-degree weather just doesn't inspire any of that.
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about summer. I am just realllllly excited about fall.
As gorgeous as the summers are around here, think green as far as the eye can see, fall is the ultimate season in the Pacific Northwest. It was really the first thing that captured my heart when I moved here from San Diego.
But just because the weather allows me to get into my kitchen and cook, it doesn't mean I want to do it every night. That is when I fall back on things like my Quick and Easy Teriyaki Sauce, Classic BBQ Sauce, and this Honey Mustard Sauce. I keep jars of them in the fridge for those nights that cooking just isn't on my must-do list.
It is amazing how a simple sauce can make it seem like you have been slaving away in the kitchen when all you really need to do is slather some sauce on your chicken, pork, or fish and pop it into the oven.
No muss, no fuss, just a delicious dinner for the fam.
On this day I was busy being a little baker Bobbi.
I know, shocker right?
Is it just me, or does it seem like everything carby sounds fantastic as soon as the temperatures dip? I want all of the cakes, cookies, pies, bread, pasta, well you get the picture. I made 3 cakes, and several dozen cookies. Helloooooo carbaliciousness!
Which meant that by the time 5 o'clock rolled around, I wasn't feeling the whole get down and dirty and make dinner dealio.
Kevin had worked a long stressful day, so sweet-talking him into cooking just wasn't gonna happen. Believe me, I did try.
So, now what to do?
Enter this ridiculously simple Honey Mustard Sauce!
I just generously coated a pork tenderloin that had been thawing in my fridge, popped it into the oven for a few, threw together a nice side salad, and WALA dinner was served!
P.S., as you can see above, this sauce makes a boring chicken sandwich amazeballs!!
