Keto Roasted Jalapeno Hummus: A Sizzling Hot Obsession 🔥
Greetings from the sweaty land of no air conditioning! While I'm sitting in my darkened living room feeling like a giant, sweaty mole (thanks, Pacific Northwest heatwave), there's one thing keeping my spirits high—my latest obsession, the Keto Roasted Jalapeno Hummus.
Now, you might know my love affair with hummus. But, since embracing the low-carb lifestyle, I thought those chickpea-infused days were behind me—until I discovered the magic of substituting steamed cauliflower. Trust me; it's a game-changer.
In these scorching 90-degree days, I've found solace in the company of a fan, drawn blinds, and my trusty keto hummus. It's become my lunchtime hero—paired with crisp veggies or a few keto tortilla chips, it's a ticket to keto heaven.
Even Kevin has joined the hummus bandwagon! Unprecedented times, my friends.
But here's the plot twist—I've ventured beyond the usual hummus routine. It's no longer just a dip; it's my mayo replacement on sandwiches. Can we talk about elevating a ho-hum ham sammy to new heights? Yes, please!
And then there's the guacamole saga. A moment of silence for my newfound avocado allergy. 🥑 Cue the tears. But fear not, my Avocado-Free Guacamole is a decent substitute. Yet, this keto Roasted Jalapeno Hummus has managed to erase the avocado yearning from my mind.
Now, I reach into the fridge, grab a dollop of happiness, and I'm a happy girl again. Seriously, folks, you've got to make this. Slather it on everything—well, maybe not your dog; that'd be weird. Stick to sandwiches and burgers, and thank me later. Enjoy the keto goodness!

🥘Roasted Jalapeno Hummus Ingredients
These are the ingredients necessary to make Roasted Jalapeno Hummus.
- Jalapenos - When selecting jalapenos, keep in mind that their heat level is influenced by the seeds and membranes, not the skin. If you prefer milder heat, choose larger jalapenos with smoother skin; for more heat, opt for those with visible striations or a wrinkled appearance.
- Cauliflower - You can choose to use 20 ounces of frozen cauliflower or cut a medium head into florets.
- New Mexico Red Chile Powder - This is my favorite chili powder to use for this recipe.
A detailed list with measurements and instructions can be found on the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page.
🔪Roasted Jalapeno Hummus Instructions
This is a basic breakdown of the steps involved in making Roasted Jalapeno Hummus. You will find the full directions in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
Place the roasted jalapenos, steamed cauliflower, garlic, tahini, lime juice, chile powder, salt, and cilantro in the food processor.
As you run the processor, drizzle the olive oil in from the top until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
Helpful Hint: 💡: To enhance the roasted flavor, try roasting the garlic along with the jalapenos before adding them to the hummus.
🍽Equipment
This is the equipment you will need to make Roasted Jalapeno Hummus.
Storage
Transfer any leftover jalapeno hummus to an airtight container and refrigerate. Properly stored, it can be enjoyed for up to a week. For longer storage, consider freezing in small portions and thawing before use. Keep in mind that the texture may slightly change after freezing, but the flavor will remain delightful.
💭Top tip
Adjust the consistency of your hummus by controlling the amount of olive oil added. For a creamier texture, increase the oil; for a thicker dip, reduce the oil and enjoy a heartier hummus.

Roasted Jalapeno Hummus
Ingredients
- 3 large jalapeños
- 20 ounces frozen cauliflower florets about 1 medium head
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 limes zested and juiced
- 1 tsp New Mexico chili powder
- 1/2 tsp pink salt
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions
- Bring your oven rack to the top of your oven, and heat your broiler to high.
- Drizzle the jalapeños with a bit of olive oil and place them on a baking sheet under the broiler.
- Broil, turning as needed, until the skin has bubbled and charred.
- Remove the peppers and place them in a bowl.
- Cover the bowl tight with cling wrap and allow the peppers to steam for 15 minutes, or until cool enough to handle.

- Peel the skin off the roasted jalapeno peppers (if you can't get it all that is OK).
- Remove the stem and seeds and place them in a food processor with the steamed cauliflower, garlic, tahini, lime juice, chile powder, salt, and cilantro.
- As you run the processor, drizzle the olive oil in from the top until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
- Taste and add more salt if needed.
- Add more oil if a thinner consistency is desired.
- Spoon the hummus into a bowl and sprinkle with chili powder and cilantro leaves for presentation if desired.
