This BLT Hot Dogs recipe features the All-American hot dog loaded with the traditional BLT toppings (bacon, lettuce, tomato), all piled into a soft keto bun. These bacon dogs have the perfect salty juicy snap and are so delicious!

These keto BLT Hot Dogs are the ultimate! It’s a fun spin on the classic sandwich that the whole family will love.

Happy National Bacon Day!! Woot woot!

Can you tell I am excited? I can't help it. I mean, a day set aside for us to enjoy all things bacon?

Yes please sign me up SIR!

Of course, it is not like I abstain from bacon the rest of the year, holy crap I don't even want to think about that! But there is something about an official holiday that brings out extra excitement to celebrate right? Heck, I am always game for a good party, and I don't even care if it is BYOB (bring your own bacon.....ya that was weak I know).

I will tell you though that, at my house, there is no need to bring your own bacon because I have had pounds (which is slightly more than usual) of that fabulous meat candy flowing through my kitchen!

I knew I wanted to come up with a main dish for the big day. Leading up to it, the notable side dish with bacon was my BLT Cauliflower Salad.

The BLT cauliflower salad is the perfect side for all of the BBQing that has been going on around here. It is creamy with caramelized leeks, and roasted tomatoes, and studded with crispy bacon. It doesn't get much better than that folks!

When it came right down to what I was going to make for this auspicious day I knew I wanted to go back to the basics, but just give it a little twist.

I have kind of been on a little hot dog kick lately, ever since I found these keto hot dog buns.

If it is really possible, I have actually gotten a bit burned out on BBQ!

I know, say it ain't so Bobbi!

We have had ribs, chicken, steak, and burgers so many times over the last few weeks. Our grill and smoker have gotten quite the workout, however, my taste buds have been crying for a change.

So the humble little hot dog is what has been calling my name and it just seemed fitting to me that I take my craving and mash it up with a classic bacon dish like the BLT.

But let's bump it up just a tad, shall we?

We won't grill that little doggie. Ohhh no no my friends, that wouldn't be any fun at all. Plus we are trying to celebrate bacon, and for that, you can't just slap some bacon on a dog and call it a party, can you?

    Nope, I think not.

Buuuutttttt, if you cook, said dog in the bacon fat? Well, that my friend just takes it to a whole other level of drool worthiness, can I get an amen, people?

What is the verdict when it comes to this delectable creation?

Ding ding ding....we have a winnaaaaa!! We sucked them down so fast there was barely time for a positive ID check!

    FAQ about BLT Hot Dogs

Can I wrap my hot dog in bacon?

I am always looking for easier ways to do things so I opted to just cook the hot dog in bacon fat and top it with bacon crumbles, but you are welcome to wrap your dog if you prefer it that way.

Can I use turkey bacon in these BLT Hot Dogs?

I have not personally used anything other than traditional bacon but I am sure that turkey bacon would work well too.

How should I store my leftover BLT Hot Dogs?

Store any cooked hot dogs separate from the buns and toppings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze them for up to 2 months.
