My Mom would put them in a pot to boil, the whole house would start to stink, and I would run to my room praying that I would magically be transported to some other dimension before dinner so I wouldn’t have to eat the nasty little green things!
Fast forward into my adult years, like my reallllllly late adult years.
in a large bowl, toss brussels sprouts with olive oil and garlic.
Place the sprouts cut side down on a baking sheet and season with salt and pepper.
Scatter bacon on the pan.
Bake the sprouts until they are tender and deeply golden on the edges, about 20 to 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the cheddar cheese, return to the oven and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly bubbly.
Drizzle with ranch dressing and serve warm.
