🍪Keto Chai Sugar Cookies: A Festive Low-Carb Delight!🍂
As the holiday season approaches, our household fills with the delightful aroma of freshly baked Keto Chai Sugar Cookies. Infused with warm, comforting chai spices, these treats are perfect for fall gatherings, Thanksgiving, and festive Christmas celebrations.
From Convenience to Homemade Delights 🏡🍪
My love affair with holiday cookies began long before I became a seasoned baker. Back in the day, boxed or refrigerated cookie dough was my go-to, just like many busy moms juggling family and home. For a while, my "homemade" cookies were limited to Nestle Tollhouse and peanut butter cookies, while the rest came from boxes or rolls of dough.
However, life has a way of inspiring change. After a significant turning point in my journey, I discovered the joy of cooking from scratch. Making homemade cookies? Absolutely! I dove right in.
The Chai-Spiced Revelation of 2008 ☕🎅
In 2008, while living in Southern California, I sought to spread holiday cheer by baking large batches of cookies for our neighbors. I stumbled upon a chai sugar cookie recipe that piqued my interest, especially since my child loved chai tea. To my delight, these cookies were a hit—not just with my family but with everyone who tried them!
A Low-Carb Renaissance 🍪🎉
Fast forward to 2018, when I embraced a low-carb lifestyle. Unfortunately, my beloved cookies seemed to fade into the background. This year, I decided it was time for them to make a triumphant return with a low-carb twist. After adapting the recipe, I can confidently say this comeback is one worth celebrating!
Now, my friends and family can indulge in these flavorful holiday treats without worrying about the carb count.
The Art of Rolled Cookies and Holiday Planning 🎄❄️
I’ve always had a soft spot for rolled cookie dough recipes. There’s something satisfying about preparing the dough, wrapping it up, and keeping it in the fridge for those cravings. You can even freeze it for on-demand cookies!
This method suits my holiday planning perfectly. Given my challenges with standing for long periods, I can prepare multiple batches of these Keto Chai Sugar Cookies, pop them in the freezer, and simply slice, bake, and enjoy whenever the mood strikes.

Place the almond flour, coconut flour, powdered sweetener, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, allspice, cloves, pepper, and xanthan gum in a food processor.
Add the softened butter and the vanilla and process until a smooth dough is made.
Remove the dough from the food processor and roll it into a log (about 2 inches in diameter) and wrap it in cling wrap. Place the dough in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
Remove the dough from the freezer and unwrap it. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice the dough into 1/4-inch discs (about 24).
Helpful Hint: 💡: Get Creative with Shapes: While the traditional method involves slicing the dough into discs, don't hesitate to get creative with your cookie shapes. After chilling the dough, roll it out and use festive cookie cutters to craft charming chai-spiced cookies that match the holiday spirit. Whether it's gingerbread men, snowflakes, or stars, the options are endless. Plus, they make for eye-catching and personalized treats for your loved ones! 🍪✨🎄

💭Top tip
Master the Glaze Drizzle: Achieving the perfect glaze consistency is key to beautiful, glossy cookies. If the glaze appears too thick, add a tiny amount of brewed espresso or coffee to thin it out. Conversely, if it's too thin, gradually mix in more powdered sweetener until it reaches the desired thickness. Don't rush the glazing process, and let the cookies set fully before storing to prevent smudging or sticking. Your cookies will look as good as they taste! ☕🍪👩🍳
