I know some people are not down with the everything bagel seasoning craze. They say it is overrated, like avocado toast, cauliflower pizza, and zoodles.

But, everything bagel seasoning really brings that sumthin’ sumthin’ to chicken tenders.

I admit that chicken tenders are not the snazziest of foods, but I now have 3 grandkids, 2 of which would eat chicken tenders every night of the week if you let them (the other one is only 1 month old so….).

Nana and Papa need something to make those tenders a bit more ummmm fulfilling?

Enter everything bagel seasoning!

I had originally bought my seasoning on Amazon to make low carb bagels at home. It was a buy one get one for free so I had this stuff sitting in my cupboard staring at me. I figured there was more out there to use it on instead of just the occasional bagel so I did some searching and came across a recipe for chicken tenders on Recipe Runner. It wasn’t low carb but I had the ingredients I needed to convert it so into my kitchen I went.

When I came out with these tasty little treats even the hubby was impressed! He actually said, “I didn’t think you could make me want to eat chicken tenders” 😲

So take it from me, everyone will love these tenders!!

Detailed measurements and instructions can be found on the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page.

For the chicken tenders

  • Chicken tenders
  • Ground pork rinds
  • Everything bagel seasoning
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Egg
For the maple mustard dipping sauce

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Place a metal cooking rack on a sheet pan and spray it with keto-friendly cooking spray.

In a shallow bowl, beat the egg lightly.

In another shallow bowl or pie plate, combine the pork rinds, everything bagel seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Dredge the chicken tenders in the eggs wash then press them into the pork rind mixture, making sure to coat both sides well. Shake off the excess and carefully lay each chicken tender onto the rack on the sheet pan making sure to leave room between each tender.

Bake for 12-15 minutes depending on their size. The chicken is cooked through when the internal temperature is 165 degrees F.

While the chicken bakes whisk together the ingredients for the dipping sauce.

Serve with the on the side or drizzle over the chicken tenders.

Should I brine the chicken first? I am a big proponent of brining whole chickens or turkeys, but rarely brine pieces of chicken unless I am trying to impart a certain flavor.
How should I store leftover Everything Bagel Chicken Tenders? I store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. I have never frozen them but am sure it is possible. Just lay them flat on a baking sheet in a single layer in the freezer. Once frozen place them in a ziptop bag or airtight container.
How do I reheat the leftover chicken tenders? To reheat baked chicken tenders, take them out of the refrigerator and allow them to stand at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Then, bake the chicken tenders at 350°F until they’re heated through, turning once.

Last thoughts about Keto Everything Bagel Chicken Tenders

These chicken tenders really have become a game-changer for easy weeknight family meal ideas for so many reasons.
  • They are easy to make
  • Quick to cook
  • Everyone loves them
  • Pair well with just about any side dish
  • Taste just as good the next day
Like I said, I haven’t frozen these just because they get eaten so dang fast! But, I am going to give them a whirl for my next meal prep day.
My plan is to get them ready as if I was baking them, but instead place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they aren’t touching and place them in the freezer.
Once they are frozen pop them into an airtight container and back into the freezer.
Place them in the fridge the night before I want to make them. Take them ut of the fridge about an hour before baking so they can warm up a bit, and then follow the baking instructions. It might take a little more time so just use a good meat thermometer to make sure they are 165 degrees F.
Then nosh to your heart’s content!
