One of the most common email or comment I get when it comes to living the low carb or keto lifestyle is, "I run out of recipe ideas" or "I don't know what to eat so I eat the same thing over and over again".

It doesn't have to be that way!

I see so many people over complicating trying to eat low carb.

If you think about it, when we were eating a "normal" diet what did we do? For the most part we had a handful of tried and true recipes that we knew our family would eat and put those recipes on a rotation.

Meatloaf, tacos, soups and stews, maybe some burgers, etc.

But, one of the easiest ways to change up those tried and true family favorites is by adding some spice and a homemade seasoning blend is the perfect way to do that.

If you want some Cajun flair, or a taste of Mexico. Maybe a curry sounds good, or just good ol' Italian.

Pick a flavor and then add it to a classic recipe like meatloaf, or roasted chicken.

Stir it into a sauce like this Alfredo sauce, or this cheese sauce.

You can even toss your veggies with any spice blend you like before you roast or saute them for a kick of flavor.

So you see, it isn't hard to do. The options are as endless as the seasonings in your pantry!

How can I use this Homemade Greek Seasoning?

This Greek seasoning recipe is delicious so many things!

On fish, especially white fish like halibut, cod, or tilapia - drizzle the fish with oil, generously sprinkle on the seasoning, and don't forget to add a few lemon slices!

For chicken - rub the chicken in a little avocado or olive oil, sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of seasoning per chicken breast, and bake at 425 degrees F for about 25 minutes (or until the internal temperature is 165). Pair with a nice Greek salad for the perfect meal!

Roasted vegetables-   toss the vegetables in olive oil, add a generous amount of Greek seasoning blend, and roast at 425 degrees F for 15-25 minutes depending on the vegetable used.  Squeeze on some lemon juice just before serving!

How much of this blend do I use per pound of meat?

A good rule of thumb is to use 2 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat, and 1 tablespoon per cup of vegetables. Also, don't forget a squeeze of fresh lemon juice!

How should I store this Homemade Greek Seasoning?

Store your seasoning blends in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place for up to 3 years. Trust me, it won't last that long!

You can adjust the seasonings to your families tastes.

They can add zip to ho hum boring dishes.

But, here are a couple more things you can do with y our homemade spice blends.

Make marinades - add some olive oil and lemon juice and use it as a marinade (I would add 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon Greek seasoning per boneless skinless chicken breast)
